Your personal protective equipment for tubing horses or cattle. NGT+ clips to the oral end of a nasogastric or orogastric tube; when retrograde pressure builds, an internal seal engages and redirects air and fluid out an exit port — designed to keep gastric contents and zoonotic material away from your mouth and airway. A second position opens the air channel so you can insufflate to advance the tube as normal.
How it works
Sealed position
A sudden rise in tube pressure slides the seal up, opening the exit port so backflow bypasses your mouth.
Insufflation position
Press down to open the air channel and blow through the tube to dilate the esophagus, exactly as you do now.
Same procedure
Attaches and detaches in seconds. Nothing about how you place, check, or remove the tube changes.
